The original owner’s manuals, jack, and spare are included, along with three repair manuals and a number of miscellaneous parts. The body and underside are said to be solid the seller says that the only two areas with rust were in the battery area and one section in the floor/tunnel area, which were both patched with 1″ and 3″圆″ patches, respectively. A small ding in the hood was caused by the prop rod. The transmission fluid has also been changed and the seller says that it shifts smoothly and the car cruises comfortably at 75 mph. The battery, brake master cylinder and brake hoses are new. The seller swapped the original Solex carb with a Weber. The U.S.-market Manta was fitted with a 1.9L CIH (cam in head) engine paired to a 3-speed TH-180 automatic transmission. A/C was a dealer-added option, but this car doesn’t have it. Otherwise, everything else reportedly works, including all exterior lighting and stop/turn signals. The stereo is a Realistic AM/FM/cassette player the antenna is new. ![]() The tach, most interior and instrument lighting and the 12v lighter aren’t yet connected. The fuel gauge is inop the seller says that the car gets 25 mpg. (The replacement speedo/odometer measures in kms and reportedly showed 72,096, but now shows 73,660 kms the 1,564 kms difference equates to 970 miles). The original instrument cluster showed 65,623 miles when swapped out with one sourced from Germany that now includes a tach. The true mileage is estimated to be around 66,500 miles. The headliner has three dime-sized holes near the sunvisors. The enter console is painted a brighter shade of blue than its original navy color. These have been reupholstered and the carpets and front seatbelts are new. The Blue Max special edition is similarly equipped to the Luxus model, which came with color-coded interiors, corduroy seats and faux wood trim. The car will have the chrome factory locking gas cap as depicted in some pictures installed when delivered. The aftermarket gas cap can be thrown in as a spare. The sliding, mechanical sunroof is another feature of the Blue Max models. The seller purchased the car in May 2009 and has logged a couple hundred miles per year over his 7 years of ownership. The original chrome body and wheel-opening trim have been retained and are included in the sale. 185/70s were an optional size over the standard 165/80. Stock steel wheels are wrapped with Toyo Extensa A/S 185/70-13 tires with under 1,000 miles on them. It is equipped with an automatic transmission and sunroof and the seller has subtly modified the appears by removing the chrome trim from the rockers and wheel openings, fitting aftermarket mirrors, and deleting the dark blue vinyl roof when the car was repainted. This 1973 Opel Manta is a “Blue Max” model and 1 of 1500 sold in the US.
